The Third International Conference on Art, Architecture, Modern Technologies, and Construction Management was successfully held by the Art and Architecture Department of Khatam University. The event took place on Wednesday and Thursday, November 23rd and 24th, 2023, at the university’s amphitheater in Tehran, with the participation of scholars, experts, and enthusiasts in the fields of art and architecture.
Dr. Majid Ghassemi, the President of Khatam University, delivered a speech highlighting his responsibilities during the reconstruction era. He mentioned that during the war, 10,000 megawatts of the country’s power plant capacity had been bombed, requiring immediate reconstruction. He also shared an example of national resilience, stating that despite a Brazilian company winning the bid for the Karun-3 Dam project, due to the country’s inability to pay, the project was completed by domestic engineers at a cost of 400 million dollars.
Addressing the students of art and architecture, Dr. Ghassemi encouraged them to think big and let their minds soar. Dr. Amir Faraji, the head of the Art and Architecture Department, announced that the department has now been elevated to a faculty, reflecting its growth and achievements.
A panel titled “Explorations in Leadership: From Imagination to Digital Architecture” was held, featuring Dr. Ali Ghassemi and Dr. Mohammad Najafi. Dr. Ghassemi discussed the implementation of a leadership model with a team-building approach in the Pasargad Insurance Headquarters project, highlighting innovations in the project. Dr. Najafi emphasized the importance of examining the philosophy of change in architecture and provided insights into the construction of the Bagh-e Aseman Hospital Complex.
The conference also included a recognition ceremony for outstanding engineers and students, followed by a panel titled “Can Artificial Intelligence Create Art?” led by Dr. Behnam Karami, who explored this intriguing question.
On the second day, the program continued with a panel on modern services in the construction business, where Dr. Mahnaz Rezaei and other speakers discussed challenges and solutions in project management. The conference concluded with various panels on diverse topics and a tribute to the active members of the Art and Architecture Scientific and Student Association for their efforts in organizing the event3.
This conference served as a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and addressing contemporary challenges in art, architecture, and construction management, fostering collaboration and inspiration among participants.
